Skopje, 20 December 2025 (MIA) - If parliamentary elections were to be held next week, 26 percent of citizens would vote for the ruling VMRO-DPMNE, and 8.9 percent for the opposition SDSM. Citizens trust Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski the most, and the majority of them back the implementation of the Safe City system, shows a poll of the Institute for Political Research (IPIS) conducted by telephone December 15-18, 2025, among a random sample of 1,114 adult respondents at the national level.

If parliamentary elections were to be held next week, 26 percent of the respondents said they would vote for VMRO-DPMNE, 9.8 percent for SDSM, 8.9 percent for DUI, 8.2 percent for the Vlen coalition, 5.9 percent for Levica, 3.9 percent for the ZNAM Movement, whereas 1.7 percent said they would vote for a different party than those listed. In addition, 13.1 percent of the respondents said they would vote for none of the parties, 11 percent refused to say which party they would vote for, whereas 11.7 percent said they don't know or have no answer.

On the question 'which politician you trust most', 27.3 percent of the respondents said Hristijan Mickoski, whereas 25.5 percent said they don't trust any politician, and 9.5 percent said they don't know or have no answer. In addition, 9 percent said Ali Ahmeti, 5.1% said Venko Filipche, 5 percent said Dimitar Apasiev, 3.8 percent said Maksim Dimitrievski, 3.5 percent said Izet Mexhiti, 2.8 percent said Bilal Kasami, 2.3 percent said Afrim Gashi, 2.1 percent said President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, 1.3 percent said former President Stevo Pendarovski, and 1.1 percent said former PM Nikola Gruevski.

The Government's work is evaluated positively by 26.1 percent of respondents, somewhat positively by 26 percent, negatively by 23.4 percent, and somewhat negatively by 17.9 percent.

Also, the majority of respondents, i.e. 63.9 percent, said they fully support the implementation of the Safe City system, 12.6 percent said they somewhat support it, whereas 7.5 percent said they don't support it.

According to IPIS, the research was conducted among a random sample stratified in order to preserve the representativeness of the population. The IPIS points out that it observes the demographic specifics of the population including gender structure, age groups, level of education and ethnicity, with an appropriate sampling of the respondents according to the place of residence and election district, with Skopje as a separate district due to its specificities.

"The poll has been conducted for the needs of the IPIS in order to analyse the ratings of the parties. It was financed from IPIS funds," said IPIS.
