Skopje, 21 December 2025 (MIA) – Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) is organizing a formal reception in Skopje on Sunday on the occasion of December 21 - Day of Turkish Language Teaching and the 20th anniversary of the opening of the TIKA Office in Skopje.

A central ceremony on the occasion of December 21 - Day of Turkish Language Teaching, will be held at the Boris Trajkovski Sports Hall on Sunday evening with an address by TIKA President Abdullah Eren and a concert performance by Turkish singer Kıraç.

Previously on Sunday, a reception will be held at Hotel Aleksandar Palace on the occasion of December 21 - Day of Turkish Language Teaching and the 20th anniversary of the opening of the TIKA Office in Skopje.

On Saturday, two handover ceremonies were held for two projects implemented by TIKA, including the opening of the completely renovated and fully equipped Plasnica Health Center with TIKA funds along with a ceremony to open its laboratories, and a vehicle donation ceremony for the PSI Hydrobiological Institute of the Republic of North Macedonia in Ohrid.

President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, in her address at the ceremony in Ohrid, expressed satisfaction that the donation, announced just three months earlier at the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Hydrobiological Institute, has already been made.

The donation includes equipment, not only aimed at strengthening the capacities of the Institute, but also as an investment in science, in the protection of natural heritage and in the future of aquatic ecosystems.

With the support of the Turkish people, the Institute's phytoplankton and zooplankton departments have been completely renovated and equipped with a modern camera-enabled microscope for the needs of both departments, and a new field vehicle.

TIKA President Abdullah Eren said the Agency has been implementing numerous projects in many areas in the country for twenty years.

"So far, over 1,300 projects have been implemented in many areas. The main goal of these projects is to strengthen the existing relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Turkey," he said.

Turkish Ambassador Fatih Ulusoy said Türkiye has always stood by friend and ally North Macedonia, with which, he noted, “we share common historical, cultural and human ties since its independence.”

TIKA has been active in North Macedonia for more than two decades, implementing numerous projects to improve infrastructure, healthcare and education.
