Skopje, 20 December 2025 (MIA) - The minimal consumer basket in December 2025 stands at Mden 65,492 (EUR 1,064), up by Mden 319 over the one in November, when it stood at Mden 65,173 (EUR 1,059), said the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia (SSM) on Saturday.

According to SSM, renting a 60 m2 apartment increases costs to Mden 80,867 (EUR 1,314). 

The cost of food and beverages in the minimal consumer basket stands at Mden 23,640 (EUR 384), while Mden 6,130 (EUR 99) are required for utility costs. In addition, Mden 7,159 (EUR 116) are required for education costs, Mden 5,875 (EUR 95) for clothing and footwear, Mden 4,636 (EUR 75) for transportation, Mden 4,131 (EUR 67) for restaurants and hotels, Mden 3,417 (EUR 55) for communications, and Mden 2,620 (EUR 42) for personal hygiene and maintaining household hygiene.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Labour, Marjan Risteski, said earlier this week that as of January 1, in addition to the unions calculating the minimal consumer basket, the Government will also calculate the average consumer basket. The topic will be discussed at the Economic and Social Council session, which is scheduled for December 22 (Monday).
