Bozhinovska – Wandelt: German companies interested in investing in green projects in Macedonia

Skopje, 28 January 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska held a meeting Tuesday with representatives of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce (AHK) in North Macedonia, which was attended by the head of AHK Antje Wandelt and the Deputy Head of Mission at the Germany Embassy to North Macedonia, Jan-Axel Voss.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, the meeting focused on the enhancement of bilateral cooperation in energy transition.
Minister Bozhinovska noted the significance of the country’s partnership with Germany in the process of moving towards renewable sources of energy and decarbonization. She presented ongoing activities, including the new Law on Energy that will enter into force this year, as well as plans for an increase in investments in solar and wind capacities.
“Wandelt stressed the interest of German companies in investing in green projects in Macedonia, especially in renewable sources of energy and energy efficiency, she also highlighted the importance of a stable regulatory framework and transparent procedures for attracting foreign investments,” the Ministry said in a press release.
According to the press release, both parties agreed that strengthening cooperation on energy will contribute towards economic growth.
