Gov’t nominates four new ambassadors, seeks to recall nine  

Skopje, 29 January 2025 (MIA) - In addition to Igor Nikolov, who is set to be the country’s new Ambassador to France, the Government has nominated three new ambassadors – to Ukraine, Japan, and Croatia. Government sources told MIA that Dimitar Blazhevski has been nominated as new Ambassador to Ukraine, Andrijana Cvetkovikj as new Ambassador to Japan, and Dragan Gjurchevski as new Ambassador to Croatia.

At a session on Tuesday, the Government also launched a procedure to recall nine current ambassadors, including the Ambassador to Bulgaria, Agneza Rusi-Popovska; to Montenegro, Zekjir Ramchilovikj; to Belgium, Metodija Belevski; Ambassador and Permanent Representative of North Macedonia at the Council of Europe, Svetlana Geleva; as well as the Ambassador to the International Organizations in Vienna, Pajo Avirovic.

The other ambassadors expected to be recalled are the Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jakup Redzepi; to Czechia, Emil Krstevski; to Sweden, Djenk Sejfula; and the Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Katerina Stavreska.
