Skopje, 29 January 2025 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Wednesday with Italian Ambassador Paolo Palminteri.

Speaker Gashi noted that the two countries last year marked the 30th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations, which are characterized as traditionally good and friendly relations, with active political dialogue and dynamic cooperation. He pointed out that cooperation is constantly promoted and deepened both bilaterally and multilaterally, the Parliament said in a press release. 

Gashi also mentioned the two resolutions under which the Italian Parliament "obliges the Italian Government to reaffirm and support initiatives for the integration of the Western Balkans in Euro-Atlantic institutions, at all levels", adopted by the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic in 2021.

Ambassador Palminteri, adds the press release, briefed Gashi on the current developments in the Italian Republic, pointing out that the focus of his mandate will be on deepening bilateral cooperation at all levels, conveying Italy's support for the country's European integration and economic cooperation.

Interlocutors expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation at all levels, particularly in terms of parliamentary diplomacy.
