Gov’t publishes names of Prime Minister’s advisors 

Skopje, 29 January 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski employs 17 advisors, including former Deputy Prime Minister for economic affairs Vladimir Peshevski, former Minister of Finance Zoran Stavrevski, and the former Speaker of Parliament, Trajko Veljanovski.

Peshevski is the PM’s advisor on strategic economic issues, while Stavrevski is tasked with advising Mickoski on financing and banking. The former Speaker of Parliament, Trajko Veljanovski, is the PM’s advisor on the parliamentary, political and judicial system.

Professor Aleksandar Spasenovski, who was an MP in the 2011-2014 Parliament, is advisor for European affairs, while Ambassador Sasho Markovski is advising the Prime Minister on foreign policy, he is also the PM’s special representative in the negotiations process with the European Union.

The names of the Prime Minister’s advisors also include one German national, Johannes Heidecker, who the Government said is “an expert tasked with strengthening the capacity of the economic team in the Prime Minister’s Office to draft documents on policies, analyses and advice to the Prime Minister, and coordinating with other ministries during the drafting and implementation of the Government’s economic policies with a clear strategic orientation to the EU accession process”.

Goran Nikolovski is the Prime Minister’s advisor on strategic issues in security, while Ljubcho Andonovski is his national security advisor. Jovan Pejkovski is an advisor in the field of political and economic sciences.

Cvetko Micevski is tasked with advising Mickoski on infrastructure, Goce Naumovski on law, and Lazar Jovevski is the advisor on labor and social policies. Dame Dimitrovski is the Prime Minister’s advisor on the environment, and Shener Bilalli is an advisor on interethnic relations.

The position of advisor on healthcare reform will be vacant as of January 31, with current advisor Igor Nikolov set to assume the post of Ambassador to France.

The only women in the Prime Minister’s team of advisors are Mimoza Rajl, culture advisor, and Snezhana Trpevska, advisor on the promotion of education, healthcare, welfare and the implementation of the UN convention on the rights of persons with disabilities.
