Parliament to discuss extension of state of crisis on oil and oil derivatives

Parliament to discuss extension of state of crisis on oil and oil derivatives

Skopje, 16 April 2026 (MIA) - The Parliament is set to hold Thursday its 99th session, discussing the draft-decision on extension of the state of crisis due to possible disruptions in supply of oil and oil derivatives by July 20.

As per the motion, the decision will be implemented starting on April 21.

Considering the Middle East conflict, the Government decided last month to cut the VAT rate for fuels from 18 to 10 percent and release mazut quantities from the state reserves, as well as declare a 30-day state of crisis so that institutions can efficiently implement the required measures.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said yesterday the situation with the oil derivatives is stable and unchanged, with not a liter from the oil reserves spent, adding that fuel prices would remain as they are or go down considering oil stock prices.

Regarding the pipeline for transport of oil derivatives, PM Mickoski said the oil is flowing regularly.
