Skopje, 31 October 2025 (MIA) - The Customs Administration said Friday it has seized 130 kilograms of marijuana worth over EUR 700.000 from a cargo vehicle exiting North Macedonia at the Tabanovce border crossing.

A Serbian national, the owner and driver of a transport company registered in Ljubljana, has been detained and charges have been filed.  

The head of the Customs Administration, Boban Nikolovski, said the seizure has disrupted an international channel of illegal drug trafficking.

"The marijuana was seized without a tip-off, and this doesn’t happen every day. Our officers have enough experience to assess what to inspect, and the result is more than evident," Nikolovski said at a press conference.
