Skopje, 20 February 2025 (MIA) — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski met Thursday with Spanish Ambassador Rafael Soriano Ortiz to discuss introducing new flights between the two countries.

According to the Ministry of Transport in a press release, Deputy PM Nikoloski spoke with the Spanish ambassador about the government's plans to develop the country's air traffic.

Nikoloski said the new Skopje-Barcelona flight, set to launch in May as part of the government's development program, would increase bilateral cooperation.

Also, he highlighted that the two domestic airports had the capacity to serve all interested airlines and encouraged visits by Spainish tourists.

Meeting participants exchanged their views on recent political and economic developments in the country and the region as well. 

They also confirmed the good bilateral relations and agreed to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, the release said. mr/
