Tourism Agency: Macedonian tourism potential promoted at EMITT Fair in Istanbul

The country’s rich tourist offer, adapted for the Turkish market was promoted by co-exhibitors BademTour, DMC Balkans, Vardar Express, Delfino Travel, Ajdinis Travel, Balkan Travel and Hotel Makpetrol, the Agency for Promotion and Support of Tourism (APPT) said in a press release Thursday.
Skopje, 6 February 2025 (MIA) - Macedonia has been participating in the EMITT international tourism fair in Istanbul, Türkiye for a decade. The country’s rich tourist offer, adapted for the Turkish market was promoted by co-exhibitors BademTour, DMC Balkans, Vardar Express, Delfino Travel, Ajdinis Travel, Balkan Travel and Hotel Makpetrol, the Agency for Promotion and Support of Tourism (APPT) said in a press release Thursday.
According to the agency, the country’s stand at the fair was visited by “numerous high representatives from the Republic of Türkiye as well as notable participants from the tourism sector”.
The head of the Agency, Biljana Stefanoska, discussed tourism exchange and enhanced cooperation between the two countries with the head of TÜRSAB - Turkey Travel Agencies Association, Firuz Bağlıkaya.
“The Turkish guests are traditionally present in Macedonia. The cultural, historical and family ties are a bridge that connects the two peoples. Last year the number of Turkish visitors grew by 46 percent compared to 2023, with a total of 276.597 tourists from Türkiye,” the Agency said in the press release.
Over 100 countries, 650 exhibitors and over 220 tour operators are participating in the EMITT Fair which annually attracts around 30.000 professionals and tourists looking for new opportunities to travel to and explore, the Agency said.
