Taravari says Worth It coalition 'lacks coordination'

Taravari says Worth It coalition 'lacks coordination'

Skopje, 1 April 2025 (MIA) - Health Minister Arben Taravari, who is one of the leaders within the Worth It coalition, has said the group needs to synchronize in a better way because it is "rather sluggish" in its functioning.

"I think there are many shortcomings, there is a lack of coordination and we are rather sluggish. The people perceive Worth It's position in the Government as weak. Latest surveys, mainly among ethnic Albanians, show that about 70 percent say the coalition is not functioning well and Albanians are not properly represented in the executive," Taravari told 360 Degrees.

He adds that representation does not mean the number of ethnic Albanians in the Government, but their quality.

"If one considers the number of ministers and directors, the representation is quite alright, but when it comes to quality, it is not. It is not functioning as it should, and this is the general impression of most Albanians," says Taravari.

On the coming local elections and whether Worth It will have joint candidate lists, he says the issue is still open.

"We agreed last year it would be better to run at the local elections as four parties and then try to merge into one party. I say this because we ran together with Alternativa at the 2021 local elections and we had problems in aligning for the lists. Now, imagine how would this work for four parties," says Taravari.

He wants to see the coalition find a formula to run as a single entity at the local elections but his intuition suggests it is "almost mission impossible" to have Worth It operating as one party after the local elections, while adding "maybe I am wrong, time will tell."
