Smuggler detained for transporting seven illegal migrants from Egypt
Skopje, 30 November 2025 (MIA) - Police officers detained a driver and seven illegal migrants from Egypt on Sunday morning, near the Romanovce toll booth.
In a press release, the Interior Ministry said during a motor patrol around 2:10 AM police officers stopped a passenger vehicle with Tetovo license places, driven by S.I. (44) from Tetovo.
During the inspection of the vehicles, the officers noticed individuals who had no documents. The driver told the police he was supposed to transport the individuals from Gevgelija to Kumanovo.
Seven people were being transported in the vehicle, all of whom, according to their statements, are Egpytian nationals aged between 17 and 52.
