Skopje, 23 April 2026 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski met Thursday with United States Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires Nicole Varnes, expressing satisfaction from the enhancement of bilateral relations and cooperation.

Minister Mucunski reaffirmed the Government's commitment to further strengthening of bilateral cooperation, with a focus on economic ties and potential for new investments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.

Mucunski and Varnes also discussed international relations, NATO developments and current security challenges.

They referred to the reform process, primarily in the fields of judiciary, digitalization, fight against corruption and organized crime, and realization of infrastructure projects.

Interlocutors highlighted the significance of the bilateral strategic partnership and the NATO alliance as key factors of stability in a time of rising security challenges, reads the press release.
