Skopje, 15 May 2026 (MIA) - Minister of Economy and Labour Besar Durmishi said drafting of the average consumer basket is nearing completion, and it is scheduled for adoption by June 30. He added that it has been reviewed by members of the Economic and Social Council (ESC), their feedback has been received and processing is underway.  

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Durmishi added that the average consumer basket will be on the agenda of the next ESC session to incorporate any necessary revisions, and if all parties approve it, it will be published and made available to citizens. 

Currently, he noted, the focus is on the reform agenda, to which the Ministry has committed all of its resources.

"After the local elections, we have made the reform agenda our primary focus over the past months. The Ministry has committed all of its resources to the reform agenda. The average consumer basket is nearly completed, some technical work needs to be done. The working groups are currently implementing the steps to meet the June 30 deadline. All ESC members have reviewed it. We are processing their feedback. At the next ESC session, after fulfilling the steps of the reform agenda, we will focus on the feedback they gave us to incorporate any necessary revisions and the basket will be available then," said the Minister.
