Minister Misajlovski visits special forces taking part at 'Wise Wolf 2024' exercise
- Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski visited Thursday members of the Special Forces Battalion who are taking part in exercise "Wise Wolf 2024" alongside counterparts from Albania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Greece, Romania, Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina at Krivolak army field.
Skopje, 14 November 2024 (MIA) - Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski visited Thursday members of the Special Forces Battalion who are taking part in exercise "Wise Wolf 2024" alongside counterparts from Albania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Greece, Romania, Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina at Krivolak army field.
The VIP Day was also attended by Army Chief of Staff, General Sashko Lafchiski, and senior military officials and defense attaches from participating-states, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.
During the two-week exercise, over 120 special troops in mixed teams carried out a number of tasks, such as helicopter descent using a rope, long-distance sniper shooting, land and air security, indoor combat, medical evacuation.
The annual exercise aims to strengthen regional cooperation and promote interoperability, which is the basis for strengthening collective security. The drill has been taking place in 2011, at the initiative of the chiefs of staff from the Balkan region.
