Miloshoski: VMRO-DPMNE's new strategy offers vision for modern, stable, EU-oriented Macedonia
- The governing party's "New Chapter: Macedonia 2030" strategy adopted at their Kavadarci congress Saturday is "a vision for a modern, stable and European-oriented Macedonia," VMRO-DPMNE Member of Parliament Antonijo Miloshoski told a press conference Sunday.
Skopje, 7 December 2025 (MIA) — The governing party's "New Chapter: Macedonia 2030" strategy adopted at their Kavadarci congress Saturday is "a vision for a modern, stable and European-oriented Macedonia," VMRO-DPMNE Member of Parliament Antonijo Miloshoski told a press conference Sunday.
"The document positions VMRO-DPMNE as the political force ready to take on the responsibility and role of this statesmanly leadership," Miloshoski said, adding that the strategy was not "a list of election campaign wishes" but a document setting clear goals for the nation's trajectory in the next 10-15 years.
He listed the six key pillars the strategy was aimed at improving: state security, economic competitiveness, the rule of law, demographic policies, EU-oriented foreign policy as well as the education system and the promotion of Macedonian culture, language and identity.
"First, state security. This means a modern army, a modern police force and a national cybersecurity system for dealing with hybrid threats," the VMRO-DPMNE lawmaker said.
"Second, economic competitiveness. This means abandoning the cheap labor model and creating a competitive knowledge-based economy," he said, stressing the need of supporting local businesses, having a stable tax system, transitioning to renewable energy sources and providing better conditions to foreign investors.
"Third, the rule of law. Our goal is to have independent judges, nonpartisan prosecutors, professional public servants and a systemic fight against corruption through digitized control of cash flow and property."
"Fourth, demographic policies," he said, pointing out that the government needed to provide "real support for young people."
This support, according to Miloshoski, would include developing housing programs, incentives for Macedonian diaspora community members to come back as well as better health and social care services for the elderly.
"Fifth, European integration and foreign policy. Partnerships with clear red lines are the most important part for us, because our political party is committed to the European Union as an equal partner without any additional bilateral conditions concerning the identity or national identity of the Macedonian people and the state," he said.
"And sixth, education, culture and identity," Miloshoski said, adding that the government needed to invest in modern, digital ways of promoting culture and education. He also highlighted the need of supporting science and safeguarding and promoting the Macedonian language.
"Because without a strong culture and education we would not have such a strong society," he added.
Miloshoski also mentioned the government's geoeconomic diplomacy strategy as well as its plans to boost the country's competitiveness through funding innovations, research and artificial intelligence.
"This is a call for a new chapter of stability, for the development of Macedonia and for statesmanly leadership. Macedonia can and must do much more. Macedonia needs to restore its self-confidence through work and actions. And it is time we resumed building the state the way citizens deserve," he said. mr/
