City of Skopje awards firefighter, police officer, blood donor of the year

Skopje, 29 December 2025 (MIA) — Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski met Monday with the city's firefighter of the year, police officer of the year and blood donor of the year and awarded them the City of Skopje's annual awards recognizing their achievements.
According to the City of Skopje in a press release, the annual awards recognize the exceptional people whose commitment, courage and compassion make Skopje a better and safer place to live in.
Igor Stanishev of the Skopje Fire Department was named firefighter of the year. He was awarded for his courageous sacrifice in putting out numerous fires and saving many lives.
Kristijan Stefanovski of the Karposh Police Department was named police officer of the year. He was awarded for fulfilling his duties with professionalism, dedication and integrity.
Violeta Ginoska was named blood donor of the year. The Red Cross described her as "a symbol of quiet but powerful humanity, a woman whose unconditional desire to help save lives is a true example of altruism and philanthropy." At the age of 54, Ginoska has donated blood 45 times.
Mayor Gjorgjievski described them as dedicated, responsible and kind people. "They are an example that courage, honesty and humanity always find their way," he wrote on social media.
"They are proof that true values live among us and that every act of courage, selflessness and humanity makes Skopje a stronger and more compassionate place to live in," he said, urging other Skopje residents to do good deeds and build on Skopje's spirit of solidarity, responsibility and mutual respect. mr/
