Skopje, 11 May 2026 (MIA) - Connectivity is strategic positioning and a Government objective. Corridors VIII and X are strategic for Macedonia as a country and that is why they are our top priority, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Monday.

"Construction of the motorway, modernization of the railway, Corridor X fast rail, energy connectivity via transmission lines and the Greece gas interconnector are ongoing. This week, we will announce the tender for the gas pipeline with Serbia, whereas the oil pipeline from the Thessaloniki port to Skopje is already operational. When all of this is completed, we can then say that the country is a regional hub," PM Mickoski told reporters during an inspection of the construction works on the Gostivar-Bukojchani motorway.

He said the Government would continue to support these projects, expecting the remaining sections of the Kichevo-Ohrid motorway to be put into use very soon, followed by the gas pipeline with Greece in the first half of 2027.
