Skopje, 27 April 2026 (MIA) – The Goce Delchev University in Shtip, the Kocho Racin secondary vocational school from Sveti Nikole and three companies have received a €500,000 grant from the German and Swiss embassies to strengthen the link between education and the business sector.
“This is of exceptional importance. We have emphasized on several occasions that the connection between education and the economy contributes to a stronger economy, which in turn means a better quality of life for all citizens in this country. We continuously underline our commitment to dual education, which is at the center of our focus and delivers excellent results. Out of around 20,000 places in secondary education, 17,000 are dedicated to dual education,” Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska said.
According to Janevska, linking education with the business sector through dual education programs is also an indicator in the reform agenda, which requires 700 companies from the country to be connected with secondary vocation education.
“The indicator has been met, and even exceeded. We have between 800 and 1,000 companies involved in this process. This is very important. I am grateful to our international partners and to Economic Chamber because both the business sector and education play a key role in the country’s development,” Janevska said.
