Gashi: Parliament will continue to support policies for sustainable energy development and investments

Skopje, 29 April 2026 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi addressed Wednesday an event marking the 20th anniversary of EVN Macedonia, which featured the launch of a "White Paper" on the company's development and impact on the energy sector.

Gashi pointed out that EVN Macedonia's operations extending over two decades represent a major success story, reflected in service modernization, standard enhancement and the creation of a more sustainable and efficient energy system in the country.

"The "White Paper" is an important document that offers a comprehensive analysis of the impact and challenges in the energy sector, as well as a clear roadmap for future steps," Gashi stressed.

He noted that the Parliament, as the highest legislative institution, remains committed to promoting a modern legal framework that ensures legal certainty, transparency and sustainable development.

"Through the legislative and supervisory function, we will continue to support policies that encourage responsible investments, innovations and transition to clean energy sources, in accordance with European standards," said the Parliament Speaker.

Gashi pointed out that sustainable development and the citizens' trust are based on the principles of responsibility, ethics and integrity, wishing the company further success.

The event was held at the Macedonian Philharmonic, with representatives of institutions, the academic community, the business sector and international partners in attendance. Key findings from the "White Paper" were presented as part of the program, followed by a panel discussion with experts in the field.
