Skopje, 9 January 2026 (MIA) – The Finance Ministry paid from the budget a new tranche estimated at 424.9 million denars (€6.9 million) to the Development Bank to support local companies.

With this tranche, the total state financial support for the local economy is recorded at 13.8 billion denars (€224.3 million) out of the €250 million envisaged to support local economies.

“The government secured these funds through the credit line of the Hungarian Export Import Bank with the purpose of supporting the local economy. The support involves distribution of funds under favourable conditions for companies to implement private investments so as to ensure their own development and stimulation of economic growth. The funds are allocated to beneficiaries through business banks with an annual interest rate of 1.95% and payment period of 15 years and a 3-year grace period,” said the Finance Ministry in a press release Friday.

The total budget in support of local companies envisaged in the budget is €250 million. The investment cycle is estimated at around €300 million.
