Constitutional Court to decide, says Mickoski on SDSM petition over migrant resolution

Skopje, 19 December 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski failed to comment Friday on SDSM's petition to the Constitutional Court over the Resolution condemning the opposition’s manipulations and reaffirming policies against illegal migration.
"No comment. The Constitutional Court should decide over SDSM's petition. I truly regret that SDSM did not vote on the Resolution obligating any government that no migrant camps would be built in Macedonia, that no migrants or failed asylum seekers would be accepted as a result of any agreement or policy. They decided to leave the Parliament hall after carrying out a false campaign that we have agreed on something, which is not the case. Let the Constitutional Court decide, I have said this on many occasions in the past," PM Mickoski told reporters.
SDSM has filed a petition to the Constitutional Court for bringing down the legal order after the parliamentary majority adopted the resolution earlier this week.
Elaborating on the Resolution, VMRO-DPMNE's parliamentary whip Nikola Micevski said the parliamentary majority and the Government have a clear and consistent policy against illegal migration. He pointed out that the Government has never agreed upon and will not allow the construction of migrant camps or permanent accommodation of migrants on the territory of the municipalities in the country. This resolution, he noted, puts an end to all speculation.
