Andonovski – Habijan: Building partnership in digital transformation

Skopje, 30 April 2026 (MIA) - As part of a working visit to Zagreb, Croatia, the Minister of Digital Transformation, Stefan Andonovski, held a meeting Thursday with the Croatian Minister of Justice, Public Administration, and Digital Transformation, Damir Habijan, focused on strengthening cooperation in digital transformation, modernizing public services, and enhancing digital infrastructure.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, at the meeting the ministers exchanged experiences on developing digital services for citizens, with particular emphasis on mobile applications and platforms that make institutional services more accessible.

The meeting highlighted that strong infrastructure, interoperability among institutions, and secure data exchange are key to an efficient digital transformation of the public sector.

Special attention was given to Croatia’s experience in digitizing archival work, e-archives, and document management systems (DMS). Minister Andonovski stressed that such experiences are especially valuable for the processes the Ministry of Digital Transformation is implementing to establish a more efficient, transparent, and digitally backed public administration.

“Croatia’s rich experience in digitizing processes in the public administration and the judiciary is of exceptional importance for Macedonia’s process of digital transformation,” Andonovski said.

The meeting also discussed the possibility of organizing training programs and expert exchanges between the two countries, especially in the areas of archival work and electronic document management. Opportunities for joint cooperation through twinning projects and European mechanisms supporting digital transformation were also discussed.

Minister Andonovski highlighted Croatia as a good example of public sector digitization, underscoring that cooperation with countries in the region and the European Union is crucial for accelerating reforms in the country.

“The digital transformation is the basis for better, faster, and more accessible services for citizens. Croatia’s experience in e-archives, data centers, and digital services is a significant example we can learn from and build concrete cooperation upon,” Andonovski said.

Both ministers expressed readiness to continue communication and initiate concrete activities to deepen bilateral cooperation in digital transformation.
