Skopje, 2 March 2026 (MIA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade urged all citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia to refrain from unnecessary travel to the broader region of the Middle East, following Iranian strikes on Israel, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrein, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq, and the United Kingdom's airbase in Cyprus.
“We unequivocally condemn every attack against our friends and partners. The violation of sovereignty and the targeting of civilians are unacceptable and stand in direct contradiction to the fundamental principles of international law. Peace, security, and stability in the Middle East are not abstract concepts – they are essential pillars for global stability,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said.
The Ministry said it is following developments “which have a direct influence on regional and global stability” with great attention and concern.
“The Government’s priority remains the security and support of Macedonian nationals in the region. The relevant diplomatic and consular missions have been in constant communication with them over the past period,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry said it is reviewing several possible scenarios for the repatriation and evacuation of nationals, which, it said, will be realized once conditions on the ground permit or after air traffic resumes.
