Skopje, 8 March 2025 (MIA) – The women's rights march, organized by the Gender Equality Platform, began in front of the Universal Hall in Skopje with a unified chant of "Women, Life, Freedom" to mark International Women's Day – March 8. This year’s march is held under the slogan "Let Them Eat Roses!"
The organizer calls for a women's march and a solidarity boycott to mark the international day of economic, political, and social struggle for women's equality.
"March 8 is not a day for symbolic gestures and worn-out phrases. This year, we don’t want roses. What good are roses when we can’t afford bread? We live in an inhumane and unsustainable system built on systemic oppression that occupies our lives and limits our choices and opportunities. In times of crisis, the burden falls disproportionately on women. That’s why we say - we don’t want roses, we call for a feminist fight for freedom, solidarity, and autonomy," the Gender Equality Platform stated.
The march will finish at the "Woman Fighter" park with final addresses to the public and institutions.
