VMRO-DPMNE: Filipche continues to play Bulgarian scenario, humiliating his own country
- Filipche continues to play the Bulgarian scenario for Macedonia, to humiliate his own country, while forgetting that he and his Strumica mentor are the culprits because of whose betrayal and acceptance of a harmful agreement we are now subject to blackmail and pressure, VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release on Wednesday.
Skopje, 5 November 2025 (MIA) - Filipche continues to play the Bulgarian scenario for Macedonia, to humiliate his own country, while forgetting that he and his Strumica mentor are the culprits because of whose betrayal and acceptance of a harmful agreement we are now subject to blackmail and pressure, VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release on Wednesday.
"Macedonia will continue with the reforms regardless of the diopter, which is clear, i.e. the report, as many times in the past and in other countries as well, is used as part of the political conditioning, pressures and dynamics to the country. But it is clear to us that such and many similar reports will continue until a solution is found with Bulgaria. But despite that aspect, we believe the report is excellent and encourages us to continue on the path of reforms, and we see it as a roadmap we should focus on in the future," reads VMRO-DPMNE's press release, adding that the party expects such topics to be discussed in the future just as they expect Filipche to continue to cause panic because he was "simply a hostage".
According to VMRO-DPMNE, in fact, that was precisely why Filipche opened the topic before the election campaign, which was already clear to everyone.
"We are thankful for the report. We believe that it is realistic. There are many things that are lagging behind and are a result of the problems we inherited, but we will work dedicatedly on reforms and the necessary steps for the prosperity and well-being of the country and our citizens. Our goal is EU membership. And we will be ready for that, when the EU is ready to accept us. We have a clear position regarding the Bulgarians, and we know that this position brings us problems and misunderstandings, but it is a principled position, and we are ready to discuss a smooth European integration process of our country without unusual and unprincipled demands," the press release notes.
