Taravari says not talking to DUI, options either Vlen or running solo

Skopje, 14 April 2025 (MIA) - Health Minister Arben Taravari said Monday that the Alliance of Albanians bloc he leads is not negotiating with DUI and added they have two options for the coming local elections - either continue within the Vlen coalition or leave the group and run solo.

Taravari said the AA bloc's central presidency would hold a session on Tuesday and decide on future steps, since certain surveys have shown they would fare good in certain municipalities even if they ran alone.

"These are the two options that are being contemplated. There is no third option," said Taravari.

According to internal surveys, the AA bloc is doing well in Gostivar, Vrapchishte, Bogovinje, Tearce, Saraj, Lipkovo and others.

"We don't think we would win but make a good result. We'll see. Citizens are the ones who decide at the end," said Taravari.

BESA Movement leader Bilal Kasami said over the weekend, "the one who leaves the Vlen coalition will be the biggest loser," when asked about Taravari and disagreements within the coalition.
