Skopje, 1 November 2025 (MIA) - Voting began at 7 am and is proceeding smoothly in all municipalities and in the City of Skopje. Out of a total of 4,826 sick or infirm people eligible to vote in the second round of local elections, 2,762 had cast their ballots by 4 pm, the State Election Commission (SEC) said.

“By 4 pm, 380 out of 1,256 persons serving sentences or in pre-trial detention in 14 correctional facilities had exercised their right to vote. Additionally, 78 of the 214 individuals residing in non-family facilities had cast their votes,” SEC said.

A total of 1,013,375 people are eligible to cast their votes in the local election runoff set to take place on Sunday - November 2. Voters will elect mayors in 32 municipalities and the City of Skopje, and a re-vote for municipal councillors will be organized in three polling stations in the Municipality of Shuto Orizari.
