Skopje, 2 November 2025 (MIA) – Incumbent Kumanovo and Tetovo mayors, ZNAM’s Maksim Dimitrievski and Vlen’s Bilall Kasami, whose parties are members of the ruling coalition, secured new mayoral terms in Sunday’s runoff vote.

In a statement to the media after his victory, Dimitrievski thanked everyone involved in the process and vowed to work on projects to improve the living standards and boost economic growth in Kumanovo.

“We at ZNAM, and I, as Mayor of Kumanovo, have received the message from the citizens of Kumanovo. It is my duty to continue to work for Kumanovo and to work to further establish ZNAM on the political scene. I want to thank all coalition partners who supported us, starting with VMRO-DPMNE and the entire ruling coalition, but above all I want to thank the citizens of Kumanovo who turned out to vote. Regarding the low turnout, the message has been received, we will continue to work hard for you,” Dimitrievski said.

The head of Vlen’s election HQ in Tetovo, Besar Durmishi, said Bilall Kasami will continue to be as committed as he was during his first term as mayor.

“Kasami received the support for a second term to work even harder and even stronger as he did the past four years. We will work in every area of the city, regardless of the citizens’ affiliation… Tetovo will develop and progress,” Durmishi said at a press conference in Tetovo.
