Rail service back to normal after train drivers' union ends boycott

Skopje, 2 December 2025 (MIA) - Rail service in the country is back to normal on Tuesday morning after the Union of Train Drivers ended its boycott following negotiations with the Macedonian Railways-Transport leadership and Ministry of Transport representatives.

"Talks have yielded results, a portion of our demands have been met and we decided to end the boycott for the time being. Rail service is back to normal as of 1.30 am," union president Toni Dimovski told MIA and added that dialogue with the company leadership will continue.

The union is demanding, among other things, inflation-adjusted pay, 10% higher pay for overtime and a bonus salary for those required to work more than 150 hours overtime.
