Skopje, 18 October 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova received Friday the credentials of the newly appointed Ghanaian Ambassador, Doris Adzo Denyo Brese, based in Prague.

At the handover ceremony of the credentials, President Siljnanovska Davkova said developing relations with African countries, especially Ghana, is of great importance to our country since Ghana was the first sub-Saharan country to gain independence in the process of decolonization, the President's Cabinet said in a press release.

"Given Ghana's commitment to improving its economy and democracy, I am convinced that there is room for expanding our cooperation economically, culturally, and internationally. That is why we need to further strengthen the legal framework and I hope that all aligned agreements will be signed as soon as possible," stressed Siljanovska Davkova.

She also expressed satisfaction with the cooperation in the field of education and science, and for the interest of Ghanaian students to study at the University of Information Science and Technology "St. Paul the Apostle" in Ohrid, and hope that this cooperation will continue to strengthen in the future.

Ambassador Brese stated that Ghana appreciates the long-standing and cordial friendship that exists between the two counties since establishing diplomatic relations, based on mutual commitment to the same values: democracy, human rights, rule of law, security, and prosperity.

She added that Ghana greatly values joint initiatives for strengthening cooperation in key sectors in their economy, especially technology, healthcare, agriculture, energy renewable sources, manufacturing, tourism, and education. Brese also wants to encourage our investors to use the attractive and attainable investment climate in Ghana.
