Skopje, 18 October 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova received Friday the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Alberto Antonio Rodríguez Goñi, based in Bucharest.

At the handover ceremony of the credentials, President Siljnanovska Davkova said that despite the geographical distance and belonging to different regions, there was growing interest for cooperation and potential for further strengthening mutual ties for the benefit of the citizens in both countries.

She expressed conviction that in the future there would be more opportunities for cooperation in new areas and for exchanging experiences to further improve bilateral relations.

Ambassador Alberto Antonio Rodríguez Goñi said preparedness and commitment to improving bilateral relations, with the aim of strengthening cooperation in every aspect, including political and multilateral activities, economic and trade cooperation, and intercultural contact between the citizens, was an excellent opportunity to develop mutual understanding between the two countries.

President Siljanovska Davkova wished the ambassador success in his diplomatic mission. ssh/mr
