Skopje, 18 October 2024 (MIA) — The country's gross domestic product in 2023 was Mden 897,694 million, increasing by 10 percent compared to the GDP in 2022. The real GDP growth rate in 2023, compared to 2022, was 2.1 percent, according to preliminary data released by the State Statistical Office.

"The following sectors had the biggest share of value added in the structure of GDP in 2023: Wholesale and retail trade; Repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; Transportation and storage; Accommodation and food service activities," the SSO release says.

In 2023, the share of final consumption in the structure of GDP was 83.4 percent. The share of export of goods and services in GDP was 67.8 percent.

The total value of gross fixed capital formation for 2023 was Mden 222,114, of which 57.9 percent in construction, and 32.6 percent in machinery and equipment, the release adds. mr/
