Skopje, 3 December 2024 (MIA) - Police officers detained a 28-year-old Albanian national under the suspicion of migrant smuggling near the village of Stojakovo in Bogdanci municipality late on Monday.

The suspect failed to obey the police signals but afterwards stopped the car he was driving and fled the scene. He was later found and detained.

Police officers also found 12 migrants from Syria, Lebanon and Iran, who have been transferred to the reception-transit center in Gevgelija.

Investigation in the case is underway, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.
