Skopje, 10 November 2025 (MIA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski held a working meeting Monday with Rashid bin Saeed Al-Khayareen, Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of the State of Qatar, during which they concluded bilateral cooperation is at a good level and highlighted opportunities to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries.

At the meeting, Deputy PM Nikoloski said the government has an ambitious agenda regarding infrastructure, as well as tourism and air traffic.

“In that context, Macedonia is leading excellent policies in air traffic, and I stressed the opportunity to establish an air route between Macedonia and Qatar (Skopje and Doha),” Nikoloski said.

The meeting also discussed increasing cooperation in transportation, tourism, and investments. Deputy PM Nikoloski noted the country is realizing significant capital projects and urged all interested Qatari companies to apply in the international public calls.

“Cooperation between Macedonia and Qatar is very important for the development of the economy, tourism, and of course for connecting the citizens of the two countries. For us, it is especially important to establish a direct air route between the two countries, above all due to maintaining business relations. We have a good cooperation with Qatar, but we believe there is a significant opportunity to boost this cooperation through the exchange of experiences, new investments, etc.,” Nikoloski stressed.
