Nikoloski: Gov’t focus on building modern transport corridors, better infrastructure means strong economy

Skopje, 24 April 2026 (MIA) - Macedonia is firmly committed to the construction of strategic infrastructure projects and the realization of capital investments that mean quality transport connections with the entire region. The Government’s focus is on building modern transport corridors that will contribute to the economic progress in the country and the region as a whole, which is also the fundamental goal of the Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region. Better infrastructure means strong economy, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski in his address Friday at the 20th Conference of Presidents/Speakers of Parliaments of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Nikoloski said in his address at the conference he spoke about the activities of the Ministry of Transport, as well as about all investments and strategic projects such as the Corridor X high-speed railway.

“I also emphasized the progress in the construction of the motorways. Intensive work is underway on Corridor VIII, as well as on connecting Prilep and Bitola, i.e., Corridor X-d,” Nikoloski wrote on Facebook.
