National Jazz Orchestra to honor legacy of Quincy Jones

Skopje, 22 January 2025 (MIA) — The National Jazz Orchestra will give a "Jazz Reading: Quintessence by Quincy Jones" concert at the Philharmonic on Jan. 24 to celebrate the jazz legacy of late Quincy Jones, who died in November.
According to the National Jazz Orchestra in a press release, Macedonian vocalists Kalina Velkovska, Svetlana Jovanovska, Ana Petanovska, Dejan Bobikj Dekso, Sasho Gigov Gish and John Ilija Apelgren will step into the spotlight as soloists. The concert will be conducted by Vladimir Nikolov.
Quincy Jones (1933-2024) was a producer, arranger, composer, bandleader and a recording artist. He is considered one of the most influential and creative forces in American music.
The concert program will feature the music of Jones's all-star American big band and include exclusive unreleased arrangements as well as compositions that shaped his iconic legacy, the release said. mr/
