Mucunski – Brymora: EU enlargement remains a priority of Polish Presidency

Skopje, 24 January 2025 (MIA) – The enlargement of the European Union remains a priority for the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU, as highlighted during Friday’s meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, and the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, Mariusz Brymora.

The strong and sincere partnership between the two nations, rooted in decades of friendly relations, was highlighted during the meeting, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.

Minister Mucunski underscored the importance of Poland's support in the country’s European integration process, particularly in the context of the current Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

In this context, Mucunski voiced his assurance that the Polish Presidency will help accelerate North Macedonia's path toward EU membership, facilitating more rapid progress in meeting membership requirements and advancing European integration.

Brymora emphasized that the EU enlargement of the Western Balkan countries remains a priority for the Polish Presidency over the next six months. He commended the country’s reform progress and reaffirmed that Poland will continue to strongly and unequivocally support its European path.

“They reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and regional stability, as well as their readiness to continue efforts in promoting the values and principles of the European Union, with the aim of achieving the common goal of a stable and prosperous Europe,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said.
