Skopje, 25 January 2025 (MIA) – The Skopje Red Cross and Transfusion Medicine Institute are organising Saturday the traditional blood drive event to honour late Toshe Proeski on his birthday.

The event is taking place between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the ARM House in downtown Skopje.

"As every year on this date, January 25, we are holding the blood drive in honour of Toshe. It’s been a successful event, as always. By 1 pm, we’ve collected around 100 units of blood. We expect all healthy blood donors who are able and have the time to join us, and we will be happy and pleased if this action is repeated with the same success as in previous years," Dr. Eftim Dimitrovski, head of the Blood Donation Department at the Transfusion Medicine Institute in Skopje told MIA.

The tradition of organizing blood drive events to honour the great Macedonian singer Toshe Proeski began in 2010. The singing legend who died in a tragic car crash in 2007 was born on this day in 1981 and would have been 44 today.
