Tetovo, 6 April 2025 (MIA) — The government is having regular talks with the United States and is looking forward to good news for Macedonian citizens and the Macedonian economy soon, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Sunday in response to a reporter's question whether and how the Trump tariffs would affect the domestic economy.

"We are in constant communication with our strategic partner, the United States, and with the Department of Commerce, which is headed by Howard Lutnick, who is a personal friend of mine, and with the Department of the Treasury, and with the State Department, and with the office of President Donald Trump," Mickoski told the press in Tetovo.

He added that Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski had also spoken about this with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Brussels.

"There are teams working on this daily and we talk to each other on the phone. I expect very soon, today, good news for Macedonian citizens and the Macedonian economy," the prime minister said. mr/
