Skopje, 5 May 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Tuesday talks are ongoing regarding the Entry/Exit System (EES) and hopes the existing obstacles will be overcome, adding that the Government seeks a general solution.
"There are politicians in the neighboring countries who want to create a spectacle but I want to talk only about things that will happen. Talks are ongoing and I believe these obstacles will be overcome based on these bilateral discussions, not only for the summer period, since we are seeking for a general solution," PM Mickoski told reporters.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski also referred to the issue yesterday, saying countries in the region are in intensive communication with the EU and its member-states, in an effort to overcome challenges related to bottlenecks at borders. FM Mucunski expects measures to be undertaken during the summer towards easing the pressure and reducing border delays.
