Interior Minister urges Grubi to return, prove his innocence

Zhelino, 10 January 2025 (MIA) - Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski urged former Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi to return to the country and prove his innocence in relation to the State Lottery case as part of which he and the former head of State Lottery, Perparim Bajrami, are suspected of misappropriating EUR 8 million.

“For the countless time, I urge him to voluntarily return to Macedonia and prove his innocence in front of the competent bodies alongside his partner, who is also unavailable to law enforcement,” Toshkovski said.

Asked if there are any new developments in relation to the search for Grubi and Bajrami, Toshkovski stressed that the institutions are working on the case, noting that an international warrant was issued for their arrest.

“If he lacks the virtue to return to the country that fed him for more than 40 years, we will take other actions to bring him to the relevant institutions,” the Minister said, adding that the extradition procedures are clear.

The Minister said there are no officially confirmed information about the whereabouts of Grubi and Bajrami.

On December 18, the Interior Ministry issued an international arrest warrant for former First Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi and the head of State Lottery, Perparim Bajrami, suspected of misappropriating around EUR 8 million from State Lottery.
