Industrial production up 1.4 percent in January: statistics

Skopje, 7 March 2025 (MIA) - Industrial production in January rose by 1.4 percent compared to January 2024, said the State Statistical Office in a press release.
The industrial production in the section Mining and quarrying in January 2025, in comparison with January 2024, decreased by 5.1%, in the section Manufacturing it increased by 4.4%, while in the section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it decreased by 4.1%.
The increase in the section Manufacturing is mostly due to increased production in the divisions, Manufacture of food products, Manufacture of tobacco products, Manufacture of textiles, Printing and reproduction of recorded media, Manufacture of rubber and plastic products, Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products, Manufacture of basic metals, Manufacture of electrical equipment, Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. and Manufacture of furniture.
The industrial production by Main Industrial Groupings in January 2025, in comparison with January 2024, was higher in Intermediate goods, except energy by 16.4%, Durable consumer goods by 20.6% and Non-durable consumer goods by 2.3%, but lower in Energy by 8.4% and Capital goods by 8.3%.
