Skopje, 9 November 2025 (MIA) - In a post on his Facebook page late Saturday, Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski shared new photos from the cleanup action in downtown Skopje, the Macedonia Square and the quay along the Vardar River, which began as he took office.

"Our beautiful Skopje! Clean and dignified!," Gjorgievski posted on Facebook.

Gjorgievski started the action to clean up the capital the evening after the office handover, and as he stated, the city cleanup is to be completed tonight.

As per his campaign promise to clean up Skopje in his first 72 hours in office, over these three days the bed and slopes of the Vardar River undergo full cleanup, bulky waste and plastic bottles are being removed, earthen material is being cleared from the central part of the quay, and dumpsters are also being emptied.

The city cleanup action involves staff and equipment from Skopje's 'Communal Hygiene' public enterprise, as well as vehicles and teams from Skopje's 'Streets and Roads' public enterprise.
