Skopje, 7 December 2025 (MIA) — Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi met Sunday in Doha with Qatar's Shura Council Speaker, Hassan bin Abdulla Al-Ghanim, according to an official press release.

At the meeting, the release said, they discussed potential ways of deepening cooperation and intensifying communication between the two parliaments.

Gashi highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in building bridges between countries and nations, especially in times of global challenges. He invited his counterpart to pay an official visit next year to celebrate 30 years of bilateral ties.

Meeting participants agreed that parliamentary friendship and cooperation group meetings provided a valuable exchange of experiences and knowledge on legislation regarding economic development, energy, digitization and climate change, the release said.

In Doha, Gashi also met with Secretary-General of Qatar's Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy Hassan Al Thawadi, who is Qatar Film Committee chairman in charge of the development of the film industry. 

According to the release, the State of Qatar is interested in investing in films and media projects as part of its long-term vision of developing the creative industries.

Meeting participants agreed that bilateral cooperation between film institutions and festivals through joint productions and support for young producers and filmmakers could contribute to fulfilling the creative potential of the two countries.
