EU Ambassador visits Strumica
- The EU Ambassador to North Macedonia Michalis Rokas, will visit the Municipality of Strumica on Friday. The purpose of this visit at local level is to bring the European Union and the integration process closer to citizens, while discussing the benefits of the EU accession and the impact of the EU assistance on daily basis, the EU Delegation in Skopje said in a press release.

Strumica, 21 February 2025 (MIA) - The EU Ambassador to North Macedonia Michalis Rokas, will visit the Municipality of Strumica on Friday. The purpose of this visit at local level is to bring the European Union and the integration process closer to citizens, while discussing the benefits of the EU accession and the impact of the EU assistance on daily basis, the EU Delegation in Skopje said in a press release.
The visit will kick-off with a meeting with Kostadin Kostadinov, Mayor of Strumica and will be followed by a meeting with the Municipal Council.
Ambassador Rokas will subsequently meet representatives from the civic sector and then visit the EU-funded wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) whose construction (incl. supervision and studies) totals €5.7 million. The WWTP not only meets the quality standards required under the EU Urban Waste-Water Treatment Directive and the respective national legislation, but also presents a unique blend of art and environment awareness. The visit will be wrapped-up at Europe House Strumica where Ambassador Rokas will engage with the citizens of Strumica over an “Ask the ambassador” session and give answers to direct questions related to the European path of North Macedonia.
