Skopje, 21 February 2025 (MIA) - SDSM leader Venko Filipche is the sole candidate for the position of party leader in SDSM’s leadership elections set to be held on March 16, 2025, according to the party’s Central Election Commission.

The Commission held a session to assess the submitted candidacies and determine the list of candidates for the regular internal elections and confirmed Venko Filipche as the sole candidate for the post of party leader, the party said in a press release Friday.

The Commision’s decision is set to be published on SDSM’s website alongside Filipche’s platform and delivered to all municipal election commissions.

“SDSM is the only party in the country whose membership elects a leader at direct internal elections, which speaks of the democratic capacity of the party and its members,” SDSM said.
