Celebrating St. Clement of Ohrid Day

Skopje, 8 December 2025 (MIA) – To mark the national holiday, St. Clement of Ohrid Day – December 8, fresh flowers will be laid at the National and University Library’s St. Clement of Ohrid monument.

Delegations from the Office of the President, the Parliament, the Government, the Army General Staff, the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric, as well as representatives of institutions, the diplomatic corps, and political parties, will participate in the commemoration.

The 2025 St. Clement of Ohrid award for lifetime achievement in education, culture, arts, healthcare, environmental protection and social activities of public interest in North Macedonia, will be presented at a ceremony in Parliament.

Philosophy and classical philology scholar Vitomir Mitevski, composer Zhivojin Glishikj and visual artist Bedi Ibrahim are this year’s recipients of St. Clement of Ohrid state award.

St. Clement of Ohrid Day has been declared a non-working day in North Macedonia.
