Skopje, 28 December 2025 (MIA) – “Radio Skopje is speaking, Radio Skopje is speaking.” These were the first words ever broadcast on Macedonian Radio, spoken by Vlado Maleski, writer and WWII veteran, on December 28, 1944, during the Second Assembly of ASNOM (Anti-fascist Assembly for the National Liberation of Macedonia).

To mark the anniversary, Kanal 103 national radio station will hold a daylong broadcast titled “Radio Skopje Is Speaking”.

“The radio program will connect radio archives with contemporary and experimental practices, and open space for new generations of authors, formats, and voices,” Kanal 103 announced. 

There will be live performances by Chlen 16, alone in a crowded room, and Aleksandar Ordev. 

The broadcast starts at 13:00 and runs until midnight, airing on Kanal 103 and Cashmere Radio (Berlin) as part of their ongoing collaboration.
